Why Profiling is a Game Changer
The profile of a skate blade, also called the contour, is the curve of the blade from toe to heel. It determines your balance point and how much of your blade will be in contact with the ice. Your profile has a dramatic effect on your skating performance. Even very tiny changes in blade shape make a huge difference to the way your blades feel on the ice.
Performance profiling is about combining multiple radius curves on one blade — to put more blade in contact with the ice (to gain speed and stability), while also keeping the agility and explosiveness essential to the game of hockey.
